The classical belief is that there are 5 components to fitness:
- Muscular Strength
- Flexibility
- Cardiovascular Endurance
- Muscular Endurance
- Body Composition
According to Proponents of Crossfit, there are 11 components to fitness:
- Agility
- Balance
- Body Composition
- Cardiovascular Endurance
- Coordination
- Flexibility
- Muscular Endurance
- Muscular Strength
- Power
- Reaction Time
- Speed
By actually going through every component and variable minutely, and by eliminating the overlapping or redundant components and introducing 2 new factors, I seem to arrive at 10 comprehensive components of fitness.
I call them the Battlefit 10:
- Muscular Strength
- Flexibility
- Agility
- Cardiovascular Endurance
- Muscular Endurance
- Body Composition
- Power
- Speed
- CNS Conditioning/Mind-Motor Coordination
- Mental Conditioning
Agree, disagree or have something to add?
Let’s discuss this in the comments shall we?
